kathmandu : Police have opened fire while arresting a drug peddler at Jhamsikhel in Lalitpur on Tuesday afternoon.

Acting on a tip-off, a squad of the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office opened fire at the drug peddler before taking him under control this afternoon.

The arrested has been identified as Abinash Rai of Udayapur. Police have also recovered a pistol along with some narcotic drugs from Rai, said SP Rabindra Regmi of the Division.

Police said they are investigating the case after taking the drug pedler under control.
