Prohibitory order issued near Narayanhity Palace Museum
Kathmandu : The government has issued a prohibitory order in the Narayanhiti Palace Museum area, Durbar Marg, in response to the growing pro-monarchy movement.

Kathmandu District Administration Office Chief Rishi Ram Tiwari released a statement announcing a ban on gatherings of more than five people in the area. The order also prohibits protest activities such as hunger strikes, sit-ins, encirclements, processions, demonstrations, and public meetings. The District Administration Office, Kathmandu declared a restricted area effective from tomorrow (Saturday) until July 8, 2025.
According to Tiwari, the restricted zone extends from Keshar Mahal Chowk through the southern gate of the Narayanhiti Palace Museum to Jay Nepal. Additionally, the area from Mahendra statue to the southern gate of the Narayanhiti Palace Museum has also been designated as restricted.
